Abner Call Backs

Thank you all for making our job casting this show challenging. As always there are many surprises. For those of you who auditioned and did not get the part you wanted I have this to say to you. "Don't stop trying". The more you audition, the better you get. For those of you who did get the role you wanted or any role for that matter you have a great responsibility. It's not just about learning your lines, songs or blocking. It's about humility. Keep in mind that for every person who was cast th… Continue

Thank you Escape!

Words cannot describe how thankful i am to have everyone in escape theatre. i remember my first escape play, Peter Pan, i had a small role and only had about three lines.. i looked up to people like sean, francesca, caitlyn, etc, etc. i already knew them from watching them as leads in plays before. i admired them. Back then i could only imagine being up there performing with them as a lead.

a few plays later i started getting leads, but i never got to perform with those who made me want… Continue

Top 10 Things I learned from ESCAPE's Production of "GREASE"

So in keeping with the formula here is my Top 10 list for Grease:

10. You can never have enough blush.

9. Twinkies are possibly the best prop known to man.

8. Cue the Monkey's!

7. I am allergic to Frenchy's wigs, really... I am still sneezing up pink hair (Cat & Breanna looked fabulous though eh?).

6. Dorrie can fix anything..even Donna's skirt bows in her honor!

5. They did not wear sunglasses at night in the 50's. (This is for Zach and Caitlyn....hehehe)

4. Brooke and Lauren learned… Continue

Meet The Directors

Elizabeth and Kyle Burson met 17 years ago during a children's theatre production and with ESCAPE are realizing the fulfillment of a dream. They bring their love of musical theatre, energy, creative passion, and more than 25 years experience to this partnership. Elizabeth and Kyle's goal is to continue to teach children throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, providing quality educational children theatre for the entire family.

Elizabeth is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, with her B.A. in Music. As a classically trained pianist, she has played with several orchestras before turning her talents to the stage. As Musical Director-Pianist-Conductor, her credits include over 100 shows throughout the Southland. Some of her favorite performance credits include Maria in "The Sound of Music", Peter in "Peter Pan", Rizzo in "Grease", and Grace in "Annie". She enjoys spending time with her husband, and four children, and is grateful to have the opportunity to bring her family, teaching skills, and her love for theatre together.

Kyle has been performing since the age of 7. Theatre has always been his outlet for creativity for far too many years to mention. He has performed such roles as Rooster in "Annie", Dentist in "Little Shop of Horrors",Will Parker in "Oklahoma", Michael in "Peter Pan", the Lion in "The Wizard of Oz", and many others. He is the Project Manager for an Entertainment Company and is happy to combine his knowledge both on stage and off to bring a more professional experience for the children.

-- "With a loving and supportive family, anything is possible."
